DUBLIN, OHIO – Ascend Advisory is proud to share insights from Chris Amorose Groomes, Mayor of Dublin, Ohio.
Ascend Advisory CEO Tony Reilly had the privilege of hosting Ambassador of Ireland to the US, Geraldine Byrne Nason, for an intimate evening at the Dublin, Ohio headquarters as part of a ribbon cutting ceremony.
In regards to having the Irish Ambassador, Reilly, commented, "We're somewhere at the top of every measuring stick out there. And to bring it back to Ohio, think about Ireland and Ohio with so much in common. Ohio is 42,000mi². Ireland is 27. Ohio has 11 million people. We have five. And so little old Ireland is about half the size of Ohio. And guess who we host? 60% of foreign direct investment in Ireland comes just from America."

I'm really excited to be here tonight, because welcoming a new business to Dublin is the foundation of who we are and it's certainly we why we exist and what we want to promote and everything about this aligns with that.

You know, certainly we trace our roots back to, to Ireland. The individual who named Dublin a gentleman by the name of John Shields was an Irishman.
And as he was surveying the land that was to become Dublin, and he was granted the naming rights. He said, if I were to be given the honor to name this land, it would be from my homeland of Dublin, Ireland. And so that's how we got our name, and that's where our roots originally form.

You know, it is a phenomenal privilege for a community like Dublin to be able to welcome a US ambassador. And certainly the ambassador from Ireland is an impressive individual with a heart for her country and a heart for ours.
And so she's a wonderful blend of those two things. And they hear her speak tonight and her passion for the things that she wants to accomplish in her time here is really heart warming.

You know, in Dublin you often think about the large employers that we have here, but really the heart and soul of the economy in the city of Dublin is small business.
And when you get small business, with a story like Tony and the Irish business that he represents, that really is what we want to wrap our arms around and encourage that we want people to grow their business here and to have opportunities for success beyond, beyond their wildest dreams.
